On June 21 this year, Nike SB had a full day’s worth of skating planned out for the skaters in NYC. It all started a high noon at the Flushing Meadows Skate Plaza in Queens you may remember from the Maloof Money Cup contests. From there, 5Boro’s Steve Rodriguez announced the next meet up spot was to be the Williamsburg Bridge that connects Brooklyn to Manhattan. At the top of the bridge, Nike SB pros Alex Olson, Gino Iannucci, Stefan Janoski, Clark Hassler, Todd Jordan, Ishod Wair, Shane O’Neill, Wieger Van Wageningen and Paul Rodriguez were waiting, and bombed down the bridge with all the skaters into New York’s Lower East Side. Next up, a massive session ensued at the LES Coleman park that saw three best trick contests on various spots in the park. Finally at 7:00 p.m., it was time to head uptown to the west side where Nike had its skateable barge docked at pier 88. All in attendance got to witness an insane demo from the Nike SB team. It was a long, hot day, but one of the best Go Skateboarding Day’s in history. Check the photos!
