Zawody Vans Downtown Showdown skończyły się w sobotę wieczorem, a w poniedziałek rano, a tak naprawdę wcześniej, już możemy oglądać idealnie wykonaną oficjalną relację z tego wydarzenia. Będąc tam i widząc jak całość była zorganizowana i dopieszczona do każdego najmniejszego szczegółu wcale mnie nie dziwi, że zmontowanie takiego ogromu materiału jest możliwe w tak krótkim czasie. Bardzo miło wspominam ten wyjazd i mam nadzieję, że będę miał kiedyś możliwość uczestniczyć w czymś podobnym.

Po raz drugi dzięki uprzejmości Vans Polska mam możliwość uczestniczyć w wielkim wydarzeniu organizowanym przez Vans. Tym razem lecę do Paryża, gdzie odbędą się zawody i cały skate/art/music festiwal Vans Downtown Showdown. W tym roku w centrum Paryża pojawią się cztery przeszkody zaprojektowane przez teamy takie jak Palace, Cliche, Flip i Element. Całość oczywiście będzie można śledzić na żywo w sobotę od godziny 13:00. Ja we Francji pojawię się już w piątek koło południa, a mój plan wycieczki prezentuje się następująco:

Wszystko co się będzie działo podczas Downtown Showdown zobaczycie na żywo w powyższym playerze, śledźcie również mój instagram @idosk8 oraz hashtag wydarzenia #vansdtsd. Miejmy nadzieję, że uda mi się uzbierać trochę materiału wideo, może przepytam parę znanych osób co tam jak tam oraz przywiozę coś więcej niż zdjęcie na tle wieży Eiffela. Jednym słowem opór się jaram i wracam w niedzielę, dzięki wielkie Vans!

The infamous Vans Downtown Showdown returns to Europe this summer to take over another historic destination. Paris famous landmarks won’t be the only sight to see when artists of a different kind descend upon the city for Europe’s most innovative Skateboarding contest.

On August 31st, the Vans Downtown Showdown will take over the vast Grande Halle de la Villette.
Now in its 5th year, the event brings together the best of skateboarding, art, music and street culture, making Vans Downtown Showdown one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the skateboarding calendar. Pitching the crème of the world’s skateboarding teams against each other in not only a battle of skill, but also one of creativity, the Vans Downtown Showdown goes a little “off the wall” as it invites these very teams to design the obstacles themselves. The result is a competition like no other, as the teams go head to head to thrash it out over an unconventional course, ensuring the riding is as creative as the minds of the designers, who are currently busy dreaming up their own obstacles, from peculiar Parisian cliches, to reimagined relics of this chicest of cities.

Bringing his artistic flair to the Vans Downtown Showdown, former Paris resident and graphic artist Mambo, creator of the 2013 Vans Downtown Showdown posters, will be painting one of his signature pieces on a grand scale, live at the Grande Halle. Elsewhere, creative workshops will entertain and inspire, whilst an “off the wall” take on Paris’ traditional markets will keep you away from the Champs Elysees…

Check out all three obstacles get a good old British pasting from the best Skateboard teams Europe has to offer. Danny Brady’s B/S Hurricane on Death Skateboards’ Ripper Alley and his F/S Bluntslide kickflip to fakie on Cliché’s Tower Bridge assured him best pro, whilst Nassim Guammaz continuous flurry of tricks on Superdead’s Olde English Tavern helped earn him the best am award.
