A Brazilian duo discovering eastern Europe.
In skateboarding, Eastern Europe is little-explored compared to countries like Spain, France, Italy and the like. For Brazilian skaters, those countries are not on any tourist destination list, and this means that there are unkown places for the people who live on the other side of the world. The purpose of this trip with Daniel Marques and Fabio Cristiano was to go in search of the new and unknown.
The destination chosen was Warsaw in Poland and Kiev in the Ukraine. Countries that they had never been before, but had heard about. Their main mission was to film for the soon- to- drop Agacê video- one of the most important Brazilian board brands.
Not knowing anobody nor indeed where the spots were, we rolled our dice with no idea what the future held. Thankfully, nowadays with the internet life is somewhat easier and after a few enquiries, we were in touch with several locals and pushing through their streets.
In countries where it isn´t common for skateboarders to come on tour, locals are generally really friendly, open- minded and excited to show you all the best places in their city.
As with most first trips to unknown places, the first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. Both cities are beautiful, really good to skate and cheaper than most other countries in the EU.
